Since coming back from Christmas break, several students have achieved individual honors for their excellence on their chosen musical instrument. On January 13th, students went to audition for the Region IV SH All Region Band. They compete against all level of students 2A-7A for a chair in 2 All Region Bands. Mallory Baxter (Bass Clarinet) made 4th chair in the top band and Maddox Ward (Percussion) made 11th chair in the top band. Both qualified to audition for All-State.
After an incredible Region clinic, Mallory and Maddox auditioned for one of three All State Bands. Unfortunately, neither were able to achieve a spot at State.
Last night (2/6/24), several students auditioned for the AR Small Band Association Honor Band @ Riverview which is for bands 2A-4A. Karly Woodall (Clarinet) made 21st chair, Mallory Baxter (Bass Clarinet) made 1st chair, and Maddox Ward (Percussion) made 9th chair and will travel to Harding University on April 5th -6th for the clinic where they will premiere a piece written especially for the Honor Band.
Congratulations to all of these students for their individual hard work and accomplishments.
